Japan Synchrotron Radiation Research Institute (JASRI/SPring-8)【No17B002】

Japan Synchrotron Radiation Research Institute (JASRI/SPring-8) is currently seeking to recruit Post-Doctoral (PD) Fellows.

1. Seeking

PD fellows at Materials Structure Group I in Research & Utilization Division. One PD is recruited.

2. Research Area and Function

The PD fellow will become a member of the Materials Structure Group I in Research & Utilization Division of JASRI, and will join the team studying a regularity of Heusler alloy in a quantitative way supported by Grant-in-aid for Scientific Research. The aim of the project at SPring-8 is to reveal a relation between structural and functional properties of Heusler alloys and related materials using various synchrotron techniques, e.g. X-ray diffraction, X-ray magnetic circular dichroism spectroscopy, hard X-ray photoemission spectroscopy, and X-ray anomalous fine structure, so far. Experience in X-ray diffraction, synchrotron radiation experiments or/and in studies of magnetic materials will be favorably considered, but not essential for candidates with aggressive and effective proposals contributing to the research field.

 * Refer to 10. for the further information on the work and refer to 9. on the procedure of application.

3. Necessary Conditions

Candidates should be Ph.D. or obtain Ph.D. before their arrival. The working languages are Japanese or/and English.

4. Contract Period

A contract period for postdoctoral researchers will be renewed every year. Total contract period is limited to 3 years. However, according to the condition of budget, there will be cases that the contract period will be terminated earlier than defined in the contract.

5. Period of Your Arrival at the Post

After October 1, 2017, as soon as your arrival is decided.

The earlier arrival could also be considered as the research budget permits.

6. Treatment

It is defined in the Rules and Regulations by Japan Synchrotron Radiation Research Institute (JASRI/SPring-8).

7. Application Documents

(1)    Resume with a photo (Applicants need to use the form specified by JASRI and send it as a PDF file or a MS-word file.)

(2)    Abstract of your thesis or former work experience.

(3)    Research plan or perspective at SPring-8.

(4)    List of any achievements or accomplishments that you have made (List of presented papers or others)

(5)    Up to five copies of publications that represent your best work.

(6)    The letter(s) of recommendation from more than 1 person or the names and addresses of more than 2 people who can give opinions about the applicant (Recommendation from the applicant him/herself is NOT accepted. There is no specific format.)

・   The documents of 2-4 and 6 must be submitted in A4 paper.
