Overview of Research & Utilization Division

The Research & Utilization Division of JASRI is in charge of the maintenance and management of 21 among the 26 public beamlines in SPring-8. This division promotes the utilization of each beamline and supports the experiments carried out by users. The research conducted using synchrotron radiation covers a wide range of research areas such as life science, materials science, environmental science, electronics, chemistry, materials engineering, and medical and biological science. Measurement systems that are the most suitable for achieving the goals in each research area are developed and provided by this division for use in advanced research and applications.

The Research & Utilization Division consists of the following eight research groups and a project research group, which promote and support research activities in the areas mentioned above and develop the methods for research and measurements in those areas.
